Rajesh Nambiar is the President of Nasscom since October 2024. With over three decades of rich experience in enterprise technologies, Mr. Nambiar is a veteran in the global technology landscape. He has played a pivotal role in driving digital transformations and building successful business operations for some of the largest technology companies in the world.
Mr. Nambiar is known for his strategic vision and strong leadership, having held key positions in top-tier companies like TCS, IBM, Ciena, and Cognizant. He has led global teams, executed largescale transformations, and established thriving businesses in various leadership roles.
Prior to his current role as President, Mr. Nambiar was the Chairman of the Nasscom Executive Council. His leadership has been instrumental in enhancing India’s position as a global leader in the tech sector. Now, as President of Nasscom, he focuses on a three-point agenda: positioning talent as India’s most significant competitive advantage, driving growth, and boosting investments in IP creation and research and development. He works closely with both the industry and the government to strengthen India’s position as a hub for innovation and digital talent.
In his previous role as Chairman and Managing Director of Cognizant India, Mr. Nambiar led the company’s India team of 260,000 professionals. Before that, as Chairman and President of Ciena India, he played a pivotal role in transforming Ciena into a leading network solutions provider. At IBM, he held several global leadership roles including overseeing an $8 billion application services division and managing 90,000 professionals across Asia-Pacific. Earlier in his career, he spent 18 years at TCS, where he led the business across the Eastern United States.
Rajesh Nambiar holds a master’s degree in Statistics from the Indian Statistical Institute and is a graduate of Harvard Business School’s Advanced Management Program. His vast experience, leadership, and vision continue to shape India's technology ecosystem for the future.
