Promoting vocational skilling infrastructure

“I am Gugan, pursuing my Diploma in Computerized Accounting and Office Management. I come from Chennai. My father is a tailor. I joined SVRCC immediately after completing my 10th standard because I strongly felt that my family needs my support at the earliest and therefore I opted to enrol myself in this yearlong diploma program.

My course mandates acquiring strong grounding in working with Tally software as well as the basics of computer. The computer lab is therefore the primary facility to prepare myself and strengthen my technical skills. Since I come from Chennai, I stay in the College Hostel. So after College, I use the lab for practicing the topics that I have learnt.

This gives me much more clarity and deeper understanding on how to handle the software and also how it can be correlated with the manual accounting practice. I am thankful to Cognizant Foundation and Swami Vivekananda Rural Community College for providing us this facility”.

CF has partnered with a few of the finest rural based regional Vocational Technical Institutions like Swami Dayananda Saraswati Educational Society (SDSES), Manjakudi and Swami Vivekananda Rural Community College (SVRCC), Pondicherry to strengthen their learning environment by building state of art psychical and digital infrastructure and laboratories. The support includes procuring machineries and computer laboratories required for one/two year diploma courses on various technical trades. The project benefits 1000 underprivileged students every academic year.
