“Thank you, AIF and Cognizant Foundation, for supporting me and my school. You have given me a new direction and connected me to my students.”
Mrs S. Anuradha is a Bio-Science teacher with an experience of 33 years in teaching her subject. She is currently teaching at ZP High School, Huzurabad located in Karimnagar district of Telangana state. Until 2018, she was following the traditional classroom methodologies and was disappointed because of the technological gap in a government school in her district and lack of training for them to upgrade their teaching skills.
She was unhappy with the traditional method of teaching and was desperately looking for ways to upgrade her teaching skills. One day she got the opportunity to do it thanks to the Digital Equalizer (DE) programme. It taught her to use STEM kit in her classroom to clarify the concepts and helped her students to achieve their learning outcomes.
Today, she is one of the favourite teachers for many students in her school. Ms Anuradha is very happy with the outcome. She says, “Thank you, AIF and Cognizant Foundation, for supporting me and my school. You have given me a new direction and connected me to my students.”
Cognizant Foundation has partnered with the American India Foundation (AIF), New Delhi to implement the DE programme in 30 underserved government schools in Karimnagar, Sircilla, Warangal Urban and Siddipet districts of Telangana, and in 18 schools located in the Panchayats of Chhatarpur block, Ganjam district, Odisha. The objective of the DE programme is to provide technology-based education to the underprivileged students and make them and the teachers of these schools IT literate.
DE focuses on digital learning, teacher training, technology-enabled classes, provision of digital content, educating parents of children and capacity building of state-level Block Resource Coordinators (BRC) / Cluster Resource Coordinators (CRC).
